Key Features of Storefront Windows

Here are Some Key Features of Storefront Windows

Mannequins in a storefront window

If you own a business, specifically a business that relies on foot traffic, having a good storefront window display is very important. If your business relies on eye-catching displays to bring in customers off of the street, having your products presented well is an important factor for your success. In today’s blog post, Ryan’s All-Glass will look at some key features of storefront windows to utilize in your business.

Your Best First Impression

The storefront window is your company’s first impression. Remember, you don’t get a second chance at a first impression! A well maintained storefront has a dual function as an inviting aspect as well as helping mining energy efficiencies in the building.

Regular Maintenance

It’s also important that your windows are regularly examined and maintained. While the items that you have displayed inside your storefront windows are important, the window itself is an important design feature. Windows can become fogged or damaged, especially as they are exposed to the elements all year-round. Foggy windows are unattractive and also look unprofessional. Keeping your storefront windows maintained is very important for improving your walk-in traffic.

The Right Window

While the other factors on this list are important, finding the most efficient glazing solution for your building is is arguably the most important factor in having the perfect storefront display. At Ryan’s All-Glass, we offer a variety of storefront framing options that will work perfectly for your business. We can customize these windows to fit your business perfectly and offer the highest quality custom glass features.

Three Benefits of Back Painted Glass

Here are Three Benefits of Back Painted Glass

Kitchen with back painted glass

If you are looking for a feature to take your kitchen or bathroom to the next level, back painted glass is a great solution. Most notably found in kitchens, back painted glass backsplashes give your kitchen an elegant touch that is found in few other features. There are a variety of custom glass features that can liven up your home, but few will do it as well as back painted glass. In today’s blog, Ryan’s All-Glass will look at three major benefits of back painted glass.

The most obvious benefit of a backsplash is the design aspect. There are few design elements more elegant and subtle than a backsplash. Depending on the color of your kitchen or bathroom, back painted glass can bring out the colors of the room brilliantly, in a way that no other feature can. The Ryan’s All-Glass selection of backsplashes is among the best in the area, with professional customization options to make it a perfect fit for your home.

You can choose from a number of different colors at Ryan’s All-Glass to give your kitchen or bathroom a luxurious custom glass style.

Easy Installation

Another benefit of back painted glass is the ease that comes with the installation. Many custom glass features are difficult to install. For example, installing a custom shower enclosure can be a lengthy process. However, backsplashes are often short and sweet when it comes to installation. The ease of installation makes this custom glass feature a great bang for your buck as well as a fantastic design feature in your home.

Everybody loves versatility and few custom glass features are as versatile as custom backsplashes. With so many customization options, you can find the back painted glass solution that is perfect for your home without having to spend valuable time and energy looking for the right option. At Ryan’s All-Glass, we can walk with you every step of the way to find the right option for your home.

Why Do Shower Doors Matter?

Why Are Shower Doors Important?

Glass shower door

When it comes to modern bathroom design, few things are as important as the shower door. And they aren’t just important because of the stylish design value they provide. Along with their aesthetic quality, they also serve a very practical function and are beneficial for things like your home value and sustainability. Today, Ryan’s All-Glass will explain why shower doors are important.

Home Value

Shower doors are also important because they increase the value of your home. While potential buyers might look at your yard or the kitchen before they look at the bathroom, there are few rooms that are more frustrating to renovate than the bathroom. A bad shower door and shower enclosure is a quick way to turn potential home buyers away. Nobody wants to buy a home that immediately requires renovations, and a badly designed shower requires exactly that.

Your shower can be the most difficult feature of your home to keep up to date and up to code. Mold can easily begin to sneak in if your shower isn’t taken care of correctly and with a damaged shower door, your shower can turn into a hazard. At the end of the day, you want your shower to be aesthetically appealing and built to last. Investing in a high-quality door will keep your shower sustainable, preventing you from spending big dollars on shower repairs.

Three Glass Maintenance Tips Before You Look for Glass Replacement

3 Glass Maintenance Tips Before You Look for Glass Replacement

Replacing sections in a custom glass design can be difficult, but the right maintenance steps can help you avoid this problem entirely. At Ryan’s All-Glass, we are dedicated to providing the best service and the best advice for our customers. In today’s blog from Ryan’s All-Glass, we discuss a few glass maintenance tips that can help avoid glass replacements and keep your custom glass features looking great.

1. Ryan’s all-glass Shower Guard

Ryan’s offers a special protective coating that seals the pores in the glass to prevent water staining and calcium build up. This coating has to be applied at the time of purchase to offer the best results.

2. Proper Cleaning

The most common reason why mirrors or glass features don’t last as long as they should is because they aren’t cleaned properly. Using a squeegee after every shower as well as regular cleaning any other glass features can cause them to deteriorate and look old and cloudy. However, this is a completely avoidable problem!

Use a clean microfiber cloth and gentle cleansing solution to remove dirt, dust and oils from your glass. Ryan’s all-glass sells a great glass cleaner, if you are on the hunt for the right product. This will keep your glass in the best shape possible and help you avoid glass replacement down the road.

3. Seek Advice From The Professionals

If you have damaged glass, you might not know whether or not you can repair it yourself or whether you need professional help. It can also be difficult to tell if you need a total glass replacement without the help of professionals like the Ryan’s all-glass team. Before seeking a total replacement or attempting a do-it-yourself repair, consult with a glass repair service provider like Ryan’s all-glass.

Perfect Custom Glass Features for Your Bathroom

Here are Perfect Custom Glass Features for Your Bathroom

Glass bathroom sink

If you are planning to renovate your bathroom, custom glass options are a great feature to consider for your design. Whether you want to add style to your vanity or update your shower design, custom glass features will always be among the best options. In today’s blog, Ryan’s All-Glass will discuss perfect custom glass features for your bathroom project.

When it comes to custom glass products for your bathroom, the mirror is a great place to start. While there are other glass features in a bathroom, few are used as often as the mirror. A custom glass mirror provides a stylish focal point for the space, adding remarkable depth and beauty.

At Ryan’s All-Glass, we offer custom cutting for unique mirror designs, so you can create the perfect style for your perfect bathroom.

While mirrors are the best place to begin when choosing custom glass features for a bathroom, a glass shower has the potential to be a more beautiful addition — especially if your current design employs a plastic shower curtain. A glass shower enclosure opens up the space and will improve the overall design of the room. If you want to take your style a step further, you can choose a frameless glass shower design, which is a completely glass shower enclosure requiring no metal or plastic frames.

Glass Repair

While new custom glass features are a great addition to the style of your bathroom, your current glass pieces might just need some improvements or repairs. At Ryan’s All-Glass, we can repair all of the glass elements in your bathroom, from cracked mirrors to fogged windows. Whatever glass repair needs you may have, the experts at Ryan’s All-Glass are prepared to make your bathroom look good as new.

Clean up Broken Glass with These 5 Household Items

5 Household Items that Will Help Clean Up Broken Glass

Broken wine glass with red wine spilled

Sometimes glass breaks. When this happens and you need to act fast, there are some household items you can grab on the fly to clean up the mess. These easy methods work for both hardwood floors and carpet.

Before you begin cleanup, however, you should remove any pets and children from the area, and make sure to put on shoes and gloves. Start by carefully removing the larger, easy to grab pieces and dispose of them safely. Then, grab any one of these common household materials to ensure those pesky small shards are dealt with.

1.   Bread

Bread is a staple food that’s stocked in almost every pantry in America. It’s spongy and soft, which is perfect for picking up broken glass pieces. Simply pull out a slice of soft bread, press it flat against the small pieces until they stick, and dispose of the bread. Repeat until all pieces have been removed.

2.   Potatoes

A potato may sound useless in this case, but small glass pieces will actually stick to the moisture of a sliced potato. Simply cut up a few thick slices and press them flat down against the broken glass. Discard the potato and wipe down the area of excess moisture when you are finished.

3.   Tape

From duct to Scotch, adhesive tape is great for picking up many small, pesky items at once. Glass is no exception! Wrap the tape around a gloved hand with the adhesive side out. Then press the tape flat against the glass, discard the tape, and begin again. Or, you can pull out a long stretch of tape, hold both ends, press it against the ground, and pull up slowly. The glass will stick to the adhesive, and you can throw it away safely.

4.   Damp Paper Towels

The moisture from a damp paper towel will allow small pieces of glass to stick to the paper. This method is probably the easiest and most functional way to clean up broken glass pieces because it helps clean up any food or drink spills at the same time. Grab a roll of paper towels and layer them for added thickness and protection for your hands. Dampen the paper with water, and press into the small glass shards. Paper towels are a cheap and convenient option for easy glass cleanup.

5.   Flashlight

While a flashlight won’t help you pick up glass pieces, it can certainly help you see all of them. Dim the lights of the room where your glass broke, place your flashlight on the ground and shine its light on the glass. The glass with catch the light and reflect out, allowing you to easily see all the broken pieces everywhere. This helps ensure you’ve grabbed all the pieces. Then for an extra precaution, run a vacuum over the area to ensure it’s safe!

Ryan’s all-glass

These common household items are an effective way of cleaning any remaining glass from your hardwood floor or carpet. Remember to clear the area of any larger glass pieces first, remove children and pets, and run through the area with a vacuum for extra precaution. The Difference Between Flat, Float, and Molded Glass

Flat, Float, and Molded Glass: What’s the Difference?

Flat glass sheet on a conveyor belt

You may have noticed the terms ‘flat glass’, ‘float glass’, and ‘molded glass’ in the glass community. What sets each glass type apart? Here’s a quick explanation of all three from the experts at Ryan’s all-glass.

Flat Glass

Flat glass is also commonly known as ‘plate glass’ or ‘sheet glass’. Crafted in furnaces from sand and organic materials, flat glass is the traditional option for windows, walls, doors, tables, and more. It can easily be cut and finished for any application. Flat glass is also manageable to treat, temper, and coat, or infuse with texture or color. Because this glass is easy to polish and cut at its simplest form, it is an open canvas for any glass-inspired project.

Float Glass

Float glass, similar to flat glass, is a flat pane made from sand and organic elements. What sets float glass apart is its production process and quality. In production, raw materials are first mixed and merged with the heat source, then they get moved to a ‘float bath’. Next, the materials are slowly cooled and formed into a smooth, ribbon-like format. From there, they are eventually rolled onto conveyor belts for polishing. With float glass, its surface is exceptionally smooth, thick and uniform. Distortion is very small compared to other, lower quality glass types.

Most windows today are made with float glass, but you can also find them on automobiles, furniture, and mirrors.

Molded Glass

Molded glass is quite simply flat glass that is physically pressed, spun, or melted into a new shape. Also known as ‘pressed glass’, molded glass is custom shaped through a variety of techniques, including high-pressure molding and spin molding. Often used for lighting, art and architectural features, molded glass is a high-quality custom glass option.

The most common types of molded glass you’ll see every day are bottles, dishware, and decor, as they’ve been shaped with extreme temperatures and pressures. Although molded glass is a bit more complex than flat glass, it can still be used for most practical applications.

Ryan’s all-glass

Flat, float, and molded glass are similar in terms of form, but they all require different production processes. Whether you’re looking to install simple glass doors, stunning new windows, or add a few eccentric art pieces to your collection, it’s important to know the strengths and weaknesses of your glass.

Glass Trends: Outdoor Glass Showers

Why You Need an Outdoor Glass Shower

 Simplistic outdoor glass shower enclosure

Just because the seasons change doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy everything an outdoor shower offers! Whether the forecast predicts hot summer sun or a crisp autumn chill, an outdoor shower could be the satisfying escape you’ve been searching for. There are many benefits to installing an outdoor shower at home. Today, Ryan’s all-glass will discuss the pros of this latest glass trend.

Be One with Nature

Outdoor showers allow you to be one with nature. Not just for beach and poolside rinse-offs, these beautiful home additions are a refreshing take on a mundane daily task. An outdoor glass shower allows you to spend 10-15 minutes in nature. Whether it extends from your main indoor bathroom or is a stand-alone hidden structure, an outdoor shower can be a glass paradise right at home.

Privacy Settings

An outdoor glass shower can be as private as you need it to be. Choose from stained glass partitions, glass brick enclosures, textured glass pathways, and hidden shower hideaways. You can design your outdoor shower to your preferred privacy settings and know that it will look stunning when the light shines through the glass.

Safety and Durability

Because your glass shower enclosure will be outdoors, having thick, tempered glass is the best way to ensure safety and durability. When designing your elegant shower hideaway, it’s important to consider local climate, longevity and upkeep. If you’re in an area that’s prone to harsh weather, a sturdier structure is highly suggested — preferably one that extends from a main structure.

All that’s required is a bit of maintenance and upkeep to enjoy your outdoor retreat year-round!

Elevate Your Shower with Ryan’s all-glass

The best way to elevate your outdoor shower game is by framing it with elegant glass. With Ryan’s all-glass, you can custom design every aspect, from a transparent panel to a decorative stained-glass hideaway. A glass shower enclosure is the perfect addition to your backyard paradise.
